Project Summary
A Taste for Life is an annual, nation-wide event where a range of restaurants donate a portion of their evening sales to local AIDS service organizations in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
Fife House is Toronto's local beneficiary. They are an innovative, client-focused provider of secure and supportive affordable housing and services to people living with HIV/AIDS in the Greater Toronto Area.
For A Taste For Life 2019, Fife House reached out for a visual refresh for the event. The challenge was finding a design direction that is distinct and recognizable for A Taste For Life 2019 in Toronto without clashing with the 50 restaurants they are employed in. The things to emphasize from earlier branding was the logo mark, which combined the red ribbon with a knife and fork, the Pantone 200C Red colour, and community.
The final result is what you see above. I chose to emphasize simplification with strong typography shouldering a lot of the communicative weight. Overall, the final designs align with the event's values of elegance, community, and compassion while communicating effectively with the target audience.
